I’d like to thank Jordi Julià and the team from IB3 TV here in Spain for this short interview about how to create Timelapse videos and its use seen as a trend in digital video marketing.

When IB3 first contacted me about recording this we needed to come up with a location, and I’d like to thank Andreu Llabrés for letting us borrow the very same room where we first recorded the 24 hour Timelapse of Palma de Mallorca’s Bay video. What better location to talk about timelapse than this one (it certainly beats the views from my office).

Social Media Day Timelapse

This June 30th marked the first official Social Media Day, an initiative put together by Mashable and there were over 600 Meetups organized worldwide to celebrate this day.

A day to celebrate the revolution of media becoming social.

Here in Palma de Mallorca, we had a great event right by the waterfront, and it was a blast to meet and connect with so many different people while enjoying the views from the terrace of the BLD Restaurant.

I wanted to mark the occasion with a video timelapse of the event and here’s the final result.

BBQ Timelapse by the Pool!

We had a great time at the event eCerveza eBarbacoa ePaAmbOli along with Andreu Llabrés, Maribel Rincón, Johana Cavalcanti, Pepper Santblai, Gaby Castellanos and everyone who showed up. From the terraces of Hotel Horizonte in Palma de Mallorca we had the chance to connect offline and hear the latest from our friends in the online world. We also had the chance to chat about our latest venture, CholloCity, a project I will share more about in the coming days.

Palma de Mallorca’s Bay, a 24hour Timelapse

I love Timelapse Photography. I especially enjoy looking for the patterns that show up when time appears to be moving faster than usual.

I first felt in love with it when I watched the films “Baraka” and “Koyaanisqatsi: Life out of Balance“, where it is used heavily to show everyday life from a different perspective.

For some time I wanted to create a Timelapse of Palma de Mallorca’s Bay, in Spain. There’s magic in this Bay and after 24 hours and 4320 photographs, (and a little help from the weather gods!) here’s what came out.

Filmed with a Canon DSLR 7D, and a 17-40mm lens. One photo taken every 20 seconds remotely with a intervalometer. Put together in Quicktime Pro, and final edit in Final Cut Pro.

Music is Hymn by Moby.

Special thanks to Andreu Llabrés for letting us film from the balcony of his Hotel Horizonte overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Christmas with the Bon family

Christmas Eve is a very special time of the year for many families all over the world. I’ve spent mine with my family for many years, and some of our warmest memories came from those times.

This year since I couldn’t make the trip to visit them in Toronto, Canada, I was invited by my good friend Carlos Bon to spend it with his loving family on the island of Mallorca in Spain.

This video captures some of the warmth felt in the air.

Special thanks to the Bon family for being so kind and welcoming me for a special night.

Filmed on a Canon DSLR 7D, using both a Canon 50mm and a Tamron 10-24mm (for Timelapse) lens, and a LCD ViewFinder to hold focus.
