With so much new information being created every day and the ways to access and consume it getting easier, it’s easy to sometimes forget about the remarkable natural world that surrounds us, and the infinite wonders this planet holds.
If you’d like to be entertained by some of these natural wonders for a change, I highly recommend you pay a visit to your local Aquarium. You won’t regret it.
I’d like to share this video with you that I filmed at the Palma Aquarium in Mallorca, Spain. Let me know what you think!
It’s a film that will inspire you and leave you breathless at the same time. Its director Doug Pray does a great job at showing how advertising – done well – can become art, and at catching the essence of the advertising industry from some of the most influential creatives in it, from the early days, to now.
“Art & Copy is a powerful new film about advertising and inspiration. Directed by Doug Pray (Surfwise, Scratch, Hype!), it reveals the work and wisdom of some of the most influential advertising creatives of our time – people who’ve profoundly impacted our culture, yet are virtually unknown outside their industry. Exploding forth from advertising’s ‘creative revolution’ of the 1960s, these artists and writers all brought a surprisingly rebellious spirit to their work in a business more often associated with mediocrity or manipulation: George Lois, Mary Wells, Dan Wieden, Lee Clow, Hal Riney and others featured in Art & Copy were responsible for ‘Just Do It,’ ‘I Love NY,’ ‘Where’s the Beef?,’ ‘Got Milk,’ ‘Think Different,’ and brilliant campaigns for everything from cars to presidents. They managed to grab the attention of millions and truly move them. Visually interwoven with their stories, TV satellites are launched, billboards are erected, and the social and cultural impact of their ads are brought to light in this dynamic exploration of art, commerce, and human emotion.”
Great lesson here on the power of Web video in all types of communities worldwide. How being able to watch and share videos with the rest of the world can spur innovation and engagement in people in all types of fields.
This is an excellent TED Talk from Chris Anderson I highly recommend you watch not just to see what online video can do for you and your interests, but to get some ideas on how to take action.
I’m amazed at how easy it is today to share your personal experiences with your circle of friends and family. Literally with the touch of a couple of buttons you can share your trips or any type of experience with anyone you want.
This past weekend I had the chance to run a triathlon in Mallorca, and on the same day I was able to share with my family not only a few photos from the experience, but also the course of the event on Google Maps, and how long it took for me to suffer and finish it!
I’d love to share with you my experience and invite you to do the same with your experiences…
One of the most fascinating things I find about Technology and our Internet age, is the ability to expand our experience and knowledge outside of our interests, by coming across (often by chance) other people’s worlds reflected on their blogs. It’s as easy as reading some of the most active and social blogs. You are always bound to find something interesting that you didn’t know even existed. And in the process, get to know the people behind it as well.
Today is BlogDay, a fun exercise where bloggers around the world post an entry recommending 5 blogs. A great way to share new experiences.
Here are 5 of my favorites:
I love Stop Motion (ilovestopmotion.org): Simple and clean way to watch some of the greatest Stop Motion videos created out there.
Robert Scoble’s Blog (scobleizer.com): One of the most informative sources of technology and entrepreneurship activity out there, especially in the Silicon Valley area.
Smashing Magazine (smashingmagazine.com): Are you a digital designer looking for inspiration? This one’s for you.
37Signals’ Blog (37signals.com/svn): 37Signals is a Web company from Chicago with a very focused point of view, always making the Web a better place by sharing ideas and experiences on their blog.
Toni Mascaró’s Blog (tonimascaro.com): Innovation, marketing, and so much more from this entrepreneur in Barcelona.
One more thing… if you are in Palma de Mallorca or plan to visit soon, check out Cafe y Más (cafeymas.net) to find out about some of the best hidden cafe spots in the city. You won’t regret it.
