Menorca TechTalk

When you least expect it, something or someone reminds you of a task you’ve been putting off.

This afternoon this happened to me while waiting to board a plane in Madrid. Two people next to me spoke casually of the island of Menorca, and reminded me that I’ve been meaning to share my experience during the last Menorca TechTalk, held on the Torrenova finca of Martin Varsavsky a few weeks ago.

This event follows a format unlike any other conference held throughout the year, since it is done on a finca, which inspires a more relaxed and open atmosphere. Instead of a formal event, Menorca TechTalk becomes a group of friends sharing an afternoon together to get to know each other better and share the business challenges, difficulties and concerns that are facing them in their day to day.

The idea is that this afternoon serves to break the ice and establish a connection between the audience and that for the rest of the weekend, they can interact based on the common interests that they have discovered.

I want to take to thank Martin Varsavsky, his wife Nina, and Matias Bergmann for the invitation and for allowing me to attend the luncheon prior to the event, where I had the opportunity to meet some very interesting people whom I assure you are doing their bits to help change the world.

I hope that initiatives and events like this continue to appear in Spain and Europe, as they are very effective for sharing knowledge, experiences and solutions, and also to learn from others who have faced obstacles similar to ours in their respective sectors.

If you want to know more about this event, here you can find some more links with photos from the weekend, and a couple more articles in other blogs.
